The NAB is honoring Beasley Media Group Chief Technology Officer Michael Cooney as this year’s recipient of the NAB Radio Engineering Achievement Award.
Cooney will be recognized at the We Are Broadcasters Awards, on the Main Stage of the 2023 NAB Show on April 18. Established in 1959, the Radio and Television Engineering Achievement Awards are given to individuals who are nominated by their peers for significant contributions to advancing broadcast engineering.
With Beasley since 2007, Cooney is responsible for the supervision and oversight of all engineering and technology matters related to the company’s 61 stations, as well as assisting in the management of the company’s capital and operating budgets. He has also served on multiple NAB committees.
Radio + Television Business Report named Cooney a Top Technology Leader in 2022 and 2023. A certified engineer by the Society of Broadcast Engineers, he has presented at several NAB conferences over the years.
