Beasley Media Group Philadelphia paid tribute to VP and Market Manager Joe Bell’s fifty year broadcasting career with a surprise celebration on Friday.

The ceremony included remarks from CEO Caroline Beasley, proclamations from the Philadelphia City Council and Mayor Jim Kenney, and concluded with a live performance by Big Machine Nashville Recording Artist Danielle Bradbery.

The Dayton, Ohio native became interested in a radio career while attending Trotwood Madison High School. After graduating from a local broadcast college, Bell started his career at small stations in Indiana and Kentucky, where he became interested in sales.

“I got into the business because it looked like fun,” said Bell. “It was fun in 1973 and it’s still fun in 2023!”

Bell has spent the past 25 years with Beasley in Fort Myers, Miami, and now Philadelphia. He oversees 92.5 WXTU, 93.3 WMMR, 95.7 BEN FM, 97.5 The Fanatic (WPEN), 102.9 WMGK, 610 ESPN, and 860 WWDB-AM. Under his leadership, his stations have won three NAB Marconi awards, three Crystal Awards, and two Service to America awards. He has also led on-air talent to numerous awards and hall of fame inductions.

“Joe and I have worked together for the last 25 years,” said President Bruce Beasley. “It’s been a privilege to see him grow and evolve in the industry over the years.”
