Audacy's EVP of Programming Jeff Sottolano announced on Monday that Matt Volk will be leaving Audacy at the end of this year. Sottolano hired Volk two years ago to oversee the build out of Audacy's BetQL Network. Volk is returning Boston where he's taken a job in sports Television.   [read more]



Employment services provider Indeed continued to hold its rank as the most-run spot on stations coast-to-coast for the third consecutive week in a row, with a slight increase in spots run compared to the prior week; Progressive moved to second. [read more]

Jacobs Media has opened registration for commercial radio stations in the U.S. and Canada to participate in Techsurvey 2023. Techsurvey 2023 will build on 2022 data, with an opportunity to assess the media climate in post-pandemic North America, including work from home and time spent accessing media while driving. Audacy's Minneapolis news-talk station WCCO (830 AM) raised over $330,000 for Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities during a recent event. The radiothon took place Tuesday, November 15 with a live broadcast from the Mall of America. [read more]



Cox Media Group's KRMG-FM in Tulsa recently held its 17th annual Stories of Light fundraiser which brought in over $311,000. To date, CMG has raised over $4 million from this annual event. [read more]



Cumuls Media's Huntsville-based top 40 radio station WZYP (104.3 FM) collected more than 100 turkeys during its first-annual Tory's Turkey Drop event on Monday, November 14. The turkeys were handed out to over 100 families in 18 minutes. [read more]

Hubbard's West Palm Beach country station WIRK (103.1 FM) raised more than $11,000 for a local food bank during a three-day charity broadcast. The donations are the equivalent of over 55,000 meals for the food bank. [read more]



Cumulus Media's Detroit-based Hot AC station WDVD (96.3 FM) will present Blaine and Laurie's Christmas Bash on Thursday, December 15. The acoustic concert will feature performances by American Authors, the Band Camino and Colbie Caillat. [read more]



iHeartMedia says Manny Munoz has been promoted to the role of midday co-host at its news radio station WIOD (610 AM). Munoz will co-host from 10 a.m. to noon on WIOD starting in January; his co-host will be announced at a later date. [read more]

Colorado Public Radio is welcoming two new hosts to their classical radio station, as two long-time hosts are set to depart. Kabin Thomas joined on Wednesday, November 16; Patty Painter-Wakefield is set to start on Thursday, December 1. [read more]



SummitMedia has hired K.Samone to host middays on WBHJ (95.7 FM, 95.7 Jamz) in Birmingham, Alabama. K.Samone will broadcast from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; she was previously the host of a show at Radio One Atlanta's WHTA (107.9 FM). [read more]



Fox Television Station's CEO Jack Abernethy will be honored with the 2023 Golden Mike Award from the Broadcasters Foundation. Abernethy has worked for Fox's local TV group since 2004, overseeing nearly three dozen O&Os in several large markets. [read more]
