Saga Communications has announced the confirmation of Chris Forgy as the new CEO of the company, following the recent death of long-time CEO Ed Christian. Forgy's first day as CEO will be December 7th. Forgy has served as Saga’s Senior Vice President/Operations since 2018. [read more]

Sports betting network VSiN and Gow Media have announced a new distribution deal that greatly expands VSiN's network. Starting in January, VSiN's audio content will replace SportsGrid content on all of Gow's SportMap stations. [read more]



Editorial staff at Charlotte's WFAE (90.7 FM) have voted to unionize with SAG-AFTRA, becoming the first public radio station in the Carolinas to do so. More than 70% of WFAE's editorial staff signed a petition to unionize. [read more]



NPR News says it will open a bureau in Kyiv, Ukraine that will help the news organization better cover the conflict there. The bureau will be led by Joanna Kakissis, who has already produced reports from throughout Ukraine. [read more]

Beasley Media Group's WMMR (93.3 FM) raised over $1 million and 2.8 million pounds of food for a local hunger relief organization. Proceeds from the station's 25th annual Preston & Steve Camp Out for Hunger will go to benefit Philabundance. [read more]



Cumulus Topeka radio stations Majic 107.7/KMAJ-FM (AC) and V100/KDVV-FM (Rock) have been recognized with five awards by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters in the KAB’s 2022 Station Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting.  [read more]



Townsquare Media's WKXW (101.5 FM) won an Excellence in Journalism Award from the New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists for the station's coverage of how a local hospital prioritized wealthy donors for the COVID-19 vaccine. [read more]

Grammy Award-winning musician Ms. Lauryn Hill has been revealed as a performer for the Tom Joyner Foundation's Fantastic Voyage in 2023. Hill will help raise Joyner money for HBCUs when the Fantastic Voyage sets sail in May. [read more]
