How America votes in the 2020 U.S. presidential elections will reshape the FCC no matter what happens. If Joe Biden wins, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai will likely be succeeded by one of two Democratic Commissioners.

ABOUT GEOFFREY STARKS
Democratic FCC Commissioner Geoffrey Starks took the oath of office as an FCC Commissioner on January 30, 2019. He was previously an Assistant Chief in the Enforcement Bureau of the Commission. He has also served as a senior counsel at the U.S. Justice Department and has also served as a private sector attorney, at the prestigious Washington, D.C. law firm Williams & Connolly.

Starks shifted from the DOJ to the FCC in 2015 to help tackle waste, fraud and abuse in Universal Service Fund programs. Earlier in his career Starks served as staff to the state Democrats — at a time when Barack Obama was a little-known Illinois state senator.
